Postmenopausal Women: Progestin Adds to Breast Cancer Risk of HRT


Use of regimens combining estrogens and progestins increases the risk of breast cancer in postmenopausal women beyond the level produced by estrogens alone. Particularly in women without an intact uterus, combination hormone-replacement therapy (HRT) should be avoided.
